What to expect
The Butterfly House takes on a Halloween theme through October 31, but the focus is on learning about bugs people often fear, not on scares. Tarantulas, cockroaches, scorpions and beetles are on display every day, and the Owl Butterfly can be spotted flying through the trees. On weekends, a hands-on Animal Encounters session lets guests meet the animals and learn about their habits and habitats. On Sundays, plant experts lead a Carnivorous Plant Outpost talk about the plants in the Tropical Conservatory and the Garden's living collection. Both sessions are included in admission.
