What to expect
Siblings Chelle and Lank run a basement after-hours party in 1967 Detroit, and the Four Tops and The Temptations fill the room. When a mysterious stranger arrives and the streets erupt outside, the good times give way to buried tensions and hard truths. Playwright Dominique Morisseau, whose earlier play Confederates was staged at the Rep, wrote this story, which won the Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama.
