What to expect

Brightside St. Louis sets up a pumpkin compost dumpster in the rec complex parking lot, and residents throw their pumpkins in as hard as they can, which breaks them into smaller pieces and helps the composting. Bring as many as you like, but they must be clean. Composting dumpsters stay at O'Fallon Park and Carondelet Park during park hours through Nov. 8.

Good to know

  • Pumpkins only; no glitter, paint, wax, candles or plastic
  • Drop-off dumpsters at O'Fallon and Carondelet parks through Nov. 8
