What to expect

Slaughter was appointed to the Federal Trade Commission in 2018 after ten years as Chief Counsel to Senator Chuck Schumer, later served as Acting Chair, and was removed without cause in 2025, taking her case for reinstatement to the Supreme Court. Over dinner she talks about that path, the state of public trust in U.S. government, and balancing a high-level career with raising four children. The Gephardt Institute hosts with the Cordell Institute.
