What to expect

The film is built from video calls between director Sepideh Farsi and Fatma Hassona, a 25-year-old Palestinian photojournalist and poet. It follows daily life during the ongoing war in Gaza through her eyes and her steady optimism. Their conversations bring viewers close to the conflict, even as the distance between them shows how dire conditions are inside Gaza. Fatma and her family were killed in an airstrike on April 16, one day after the film was named an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, so the screening also works as a memorial. It is part of a festival that explores global health through stories of migration, conflict and mental health.
