What to expect

The film is a stark, black-and-white drama directed by Oscar and Tito Catacora. Set in the windswept highlands of southern Peru, it follows Don Evaristo, 80, as the community gathers to decide his fate in a communal justice hearing. Testimonies unfold in the present day while the villagers piece together the story of his 13-year-old granddaughter, Yana-Wara, through the landscapes where she herded llamas. The screening is followed by a discussion.
