What to expect
The special Route 66 exhibit, "Roads. River. Rooms. Reels.", looks at how the highway shaped American travel, including automobiles, roadside stops, tourism, lodging, entertainment and the communities along the road, with a focus on the St. Louis region. A main feature is a 26-foot model of the S.S. Admiral, a riverboat that once defined river travel and entertainment, restored by craftsmen of Sheet Metal Workers' Local 36.
