What to expect
Olga de Amaral trained in architectural drafting in Bogotá and in weaving at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, then spent decades blurring the lines between weaving, sculpture and painting. The exhibition traces her work from early weavings of the 1950s to monumental textiles of the 2000s, with celebrated and rarely seen pieces. It is the first to include fabric and samples from her design studio Telas Amaral, plus works on paper and weavings she collected.
